Minocqua Winter Park
Recognized as one of the top cross country ski areas in the Midwest, Winter Park provides a full range of services for families and athletes: 75km of PistenBully-groomed terrain with an additional 16km of groomed single-track striding trails. That's a total of 65 km groomed for both skating and striding and 26 km groomed for striding only! Skijoring is allowed on a 6k loop every day except Saturday, and leashed dogs are also allowed on 15km of dedicated snowshoe trails. The chalet and trails are open daily 9:00 am – 5:00 pm with lighted skiing on most Thursday nights. Other services include an ice skating pond with free rentals, a gentle sledding run for small children, and a lift-assisted snow tubing run. Snow tubing is open Saturdays & Sundays all season long, as well as daily around Christmas & New Year's. The chalet has a café, day lodge with wi-fi, and a heated waxing room.  The on-site Ski Shop provides ski & snowshoe retail and rental, and features a PSIA-certified ski school. Madeline Lake
A variety of beautiful scenery. The first half is an area that was cut over 5 -10 years ago; the second half is older timber. Winds around three lakes.
Length:  9.5 miles
Location:  Take Hwy 47 E. of Woodruff, turn left on Townline Road. Parking available between Townline Road and Rudolph Road.

Raven
Approximately half of the trail winds through an area that was logged about 10 years ago, the remainder is heavily wooded. Both Inkpot and Clear Lakes can be seen from the trail.
Length:  6.5 miles
Location:  Take Hwy 47 E. to Woodruff, turn left on Woodruff Road to Raven sign.

We're expecting 1-2 "golden hours" of skiing today, probably around 10am or 11am, and then it might be a sunny slush fest after that. Hard-packed trails and an icy parking lot greeted us this morning. Once things soften a bit, we'll head out to survey the trails. Base Loop looked very clean on the drive in, and many trails might still good for at least one more day this season. No charge for tickets today; donations graciously accepted. We'll ski ya soon?

A great day for our Winter Park Bark Skijoring Race. Come out and watch the dogs race. All trails are open and in excellent shape! Come out and cheer on our racers in the Squirrel Hill Skiathlon! Races start at 9am. Youth races start at 11:30am and the Beat The Bunny race starts at 1:00pm. We have just over 40km of groomed trail in great to excellent shape. Other trails have many debris patches, powder-filled tracks, and very firm skate decks. 15km+ of the core trails were groomed overnight to very good condition. Other trails have many debris patches, powder-filled tracks, and very firm skate decks. Groomed to a 4 our of 5, but debris is pushing the conditions a little lower. Wind-blown powder in tracks in open areas, with firm to very firm skate lanes. The best option for striders today is the Wilderness trails: Big Pine, Cedar Creek, and Tamarack Pond. Skaters should avoid the young pines on C&D, parts of X-C, and Sleigh Ride. Skiers have been enjoying the clean snow out on Lake Marie for both skating and striding. The expected snow late today should help our trails to get back up to real 5/5 conditions. Great skiing on all 90km, including all three long trails. Isolated pine needle patches on River Run, Big Pine, and Sleigh Ride. Nearly 60km of skate lanes were groomed last night. We put a grooming flap over the striding tracks to dust them with snow, so they should all ski nicely today. River Run has a fresh skate lane, and the same applies to 8km of other interior trails. Monday night's PistenBully grooming is covered by a light dusting. The trails have held up great despite the abuse over the weekend! Overall the skate decks and classic tracks have held firm and still ski great. We have received about a half inch of snow over night with some light flurries continuing into this morning, so the trails may be a little slower than the weekend. Grooming will commence tonight after the snow passes through. Happy Trails!

90km+ in excellent condition, including 65km of fast skate lanes and 25km of perfect striding-only trails. Rave reviews yesterday. Have you tried the old school single track on our wilderness trails? All of our trails have been perfectly groomed, even our wilderness trails! Wolf Tracks has been fully opened. Island Hop, Lake Marie and Wolf tracks have been experiencing some snow drifting so use caution in those areas. Snowshoeing and ice skating are also open. Snow Tubing will be open from 11:00am-1:30pm and 2:00pm-4:30pm! Come out and join the fun, we'll ski ya soon!

We received 4"+ of the good stuff on Thursday, and everything is looking very nice. Over 60km, including River Run and Wolf Tracks, have so far been PistenBully-groomed to perfection. The northwestern hills were groomed this morning, and the groomers are finishing Lake Marie now. All trails, including the old-school single-track on the Wilderness trails will be ready by Saturday open. We'll ski ya soon!

Wolf Tracks, the Cookie Loop, the Wilderness trails, and much of the interior were groomed yesterday. All other trails were rolled and combed. Conditions are stellar, with few exceptions: Lake Marie 3rd Loop is still accessed by detour, there are drifts on Island Hop, and the Wolf Tracks wetland crossing near the cabin is only rolled. Snowshoeing is fully open, and the Ice Pond surface is very good. Snow Tubing re-opens this weekend.

PistenBully is grooming 15-20km this morning, and 10km was done yesterday. All other main trails have been rolled. The Wolf Tracks wetland is safe to ski. It should freeze enough for the PB at the end of the week. The Wilderness trails have 3" of granular snow atop nice tracks. Snowshoeing & Ice skating are open daily. Snow Tubing is open weekends.

Update #2: We assessed the snow, and it's safe to groom! We'll try for 10km by 1PM. Otherwise, gonna be a great powder day! Moose Tracks Snowshoe Race is on for 11AM. More than 3" of dry, drifting snow fell overnight. Ice skating is open all day. Snow tubing will be open from 11:00-1:30pm and 2:00-4:30 pm! Call ahead in the morning for large group reservations, the hill fills up fast!

Gonna be a great powder day! Moose Tracks Snowshoe Race is on for 11AM. More than 3" of dry, drifting snow fell overnight. No grooming overnight due to the duration of the storm; we'll groom tonight. Come out and ski River Run today, the conditions are perfect! We recommend that skiers stay in the woods where it might be a littler warmer. All of our trails are open for skiing and snowshoeing! Tubing hours will be from 11:00-1:30pm and 2:00pm-4:30pm. Ice skating is also open. Light Up The Night is tonight from 5:00pm till 8:00pm with ice skating, candle light skiing, snow tubing, food and live music! Come out and join the fun!

Lake Marie is fully open as well as River Run! Don't let the cold deter you from getting in a good ski. We have hot chocolate, coffee and hot food from Ricks Hard Wax Cafe to warm you up! The tea house will be open as well to go and warm up in at 10:30am.

We have over 60km groomed!! We have not groomed: River Run, Nekoosa, Wolf Tracks and Island Hop, which are expected to be groomed tonight or Saturday night. It's a beautiful day for a ski! The overnight temperatures have been getting just cold enough to groom, and the pisten bully was able to get out and do its magic. Skiing should be fast today. Ice skating is open all day! It is still too damp to groom the trails. But colder weather is moving in slowly as the snow is still falling this morning. Skating is still nice and fast today! Striding conditions are still at a 2 however, there's still some good skied-in tracks on Nepco's, Wolf Tracks, and other trails. We have closed Island Hope due to the ice and we will not have snow tubing today. However, ice skating will be open all day. Come ski the Winter Solstice Trail and learn about the winter solstice at several stations along the trail

Nice day on the trails again! Over 150 people braved the unseasonably... warm weather. Several trails have great stretches of snow, lots of debris sections, and a few isolated thin spots. Happy Demo Day! Atomic, Salomon, & Fischer will be here with their skis and boots all day. The Wisc. Trailblazers will teach Skijoring, too! Trails are really good this morning, but a partial-melt is expected late this afternoon, so... Ski early! Tubing is open today, tomorrow is questionable. Ice Pond has wet patches. Snowshoeing is not recommended this weekend. Think snow!!

With Island Hop and adjacent trails now groomed, we've bumped up our system to 24km. For the most part, conditions are very good on those groomed trails, with some of the southern trails being soft. A fine powder overnight freshened up the older striding tracks a bit. Monday Morning: We have a total of 18km groomed, including the Cookie Loop and Red Pine. Skate decks are very firm but still edgeable. Striding trails are holding solid with thin powder on glazed tracks. Thank you to the 450 guests we saw this weekend—and 1,000+ so far this season! We plan on having at about 16km XC Skiing open on Monday, with rolling, grooming, and signing of all 90km to be completed by next weekend. 4km Snowshoeing is open now, and all 15km will be opened and signed by Dec 7. We resurfaced the Ice Pond this evening, and Snow Tubing is open on the weekends through Dec 14, daily starting Dec 20. We'll ski ya soon!
