Minocqua, Wisconsin Weather Report

Minocqua, Wisconsin Snowmobiling and Snowmobile Trail Condition Reports
Cross Country Cruisers trails vary from poor to good. All trails near town and road crossing are snurty. Once you travel north of Hwy 70 1 to 2 miles into the wooded areas the trails do improve. Trail 5 along the west side of Hwy 51 is poor. Corridor 10 & 17 are fair to good. Trails 6,3 &51 towards Popes and Boulder Jct are fair to good. Trail 11 towards Sayner is poor to fair. Remember there are log trucks hauling on the north end of Vandercook, slow down and us extreme caution in that area! Our wet areas have improved and we are now grooming though most of those spots. Trails 47,70 & the Bearskin in Oneida Co are poor to fair condition. There is snow in the forecast for tonight. We will be out grooming tonight and limited grooming this weekend. With some fresh snow conditions will improve! Please remember to stay off all lakes that are not marked!! Snake lake is now marked, follow the markers. If you do not see markers on these lakes stay off!!! There are trails on land around these lakes, don`t be foolish and take a chance, please think about your decisions, be smart!! Keep praying for more snow, and ride right, ride safe! Steve Wolfe

We have been receiving many reports of sleds going through the ice and sinking in the swamps. 3 local spots are: The channel between Lake Tomahawk and Lake Katherine, Lake Kawaguesaga onto the Bearskin and the Aqua Aire swamp. Lot's of these spots are not "official" trails but "known" shortcuts. The Cross Country Cruisers are not responsible for .. nor are we the ones who mark these "unofficial" or lake trails. We do however want to pass along this information to keep snowmobilers safe!!!! Only cross a lake that has been marked and stick to that marked trail! NOTE: I put on over 250 miles this last weekend and most of the trails were AWESOME - just be careful out there Cruisers - there are a few really bad spots!....... T. Bird/ Cross Country Cruisers ********************************** We got the 6" plus! Tons off traffic this weekend so some areas are thin and some corners pushed out. Our groomers are out in full force to put them back in shape. DO NOT ride on unmarked lakes. 3 sleds and a truck went through this weekend. Even on the marked lakes - hug the markings and do not venture out! Trails over all are good. There are some fantastic spots and some plain ugly spots. It's early season riding so be very careful and alert to changing conditions and forest debris on the trails.
